George B. Murr has been a successful trial lawyer in commercial and insurance coverage litigation for 30 years. He has a demonstrated history and proven track record of success. He represents clients in Houston, Texas, and throughout the U.S. and the world in complex commercial litigation cases, including first-party insurance coverage, trade secrets, international dispute resolution, real estate, energy and oil and gas, and other business litigation cases. 

George handled coverage litigation between insurance carriers in property & casualty cases in the Defense side while a Partner at Beirne, Maynard & Parsons, L.L.P. (now Akerman, L.L.P.). Moved to the policy holder side in forming Murr Yanochik, P.L.L.C. in 2011, which became Murr Law, P.L.L.C. in 2019.

DEFENSE SIDE WORK AND EXPERIENCE:

Litigation and Litigation Management for Fortune 50 Companies

Case Handling and Management: First and second chair work on commercial cases creating and overseeing litigation strategy, filing pleadings, conducting all written and deposition discovery, and preparing client witnesses and in-house counsel for mediation, arbitration and trial.

Budgeting: Reviewed both pre-suit and previously-filed claims and prepared extensive litigation budgets, timelines and spreadsheets to coordinate billing and case management for in-house counsel in numerous cases.

Client and In-House Counsel Consulting: Travelled to Dubai, U.A.E. and Kuwait City to conduct and supervise investigation, legal analysis of U.S. and foreign laws, and compliance consulting for an international sovereign wealth fund.

International Litigation: Managed international litigation as second chair with local counsel for a case filed in Doha, Qatar, including interviews with court-appointed experts in Doha and coordinating litigation in a foreign tribunal.

NATIONAL E-DISCOVERY COUNSEL

• Managed as national E-Discovery counsel the electronic discovery of over ten lawsuits filed in different state jurisdictions against an international automaker.

• Travelled to two client headquarters to conduct interviews of management and executive personnel, coordinated the harvesting of one terrabyte of electronically-stored information, and produced in both federal and state court all documents in electronic format.

• Served as the resident expert on E-Discovery and consulted on various types of commercial litigation matters with both firm colleagues and with in-house counsel and clients.
